On 1st of December, Ambassador of Georgia, HE Tamar Beruchashvili participated in the Council election of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on behalf of Georgia and as a the Vice-President of the IMO Assembly. The Council election is held in every two years and takes place at IMO Headquarters in London.

On 27 November 2017, the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), HE Ambassador Tamar Beruchashvili was elected as a Vice President of IMO Assembly at the 30th session.

On 20 November 2017 the investment conference “Outlook on Georgia 2017” was held at the EBRD Headquarters in London. The event was organised by the Emerging Europe with support of the EBRD and the Embassy of Georgia to the UK.

On 16 November 2017, Asia House hosted an evening in London dedicated to 125th birth anniversary of the Georgian poet Galaktion Tabidze. The event was initiated and co-organized by the Embassy of Georgia in London. It featured Professor Innes Merabishvili’s talk on the poet’s life and poetry, as well as launching of her new book of Galaktion’s works’ translations - "Discover Galaktion“.

24.10.2017, London – The Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze participated in the meeting organised by the Chatham Housethe Royal Institute of International Affairs. The meeting, which was devoted to discussions of Georgia’s foreign policy priorities was attended by representatives of leading British think-tanks, diplomatic corps and media.

24.10.2017, London - The Lord Mayor of London, Andrew Parmley and the Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze delivered opening remarks for representatives of the British business circles attending the round table at the Mansion House. The meeting was devoted to Georgia’s economic development and investment opportunities.  

The meeting in the format of roundtable was held for the first time at the Mansion House. According to the Lord Mayor of London, one of his priorities is to promote co-operation with the rapidly developing economies. He emphasized that Georgia is the most business-friendly country in the region.

23.10.2017, London – Trade-economic co-operation with Georgia was the main focus of the Minister of State for Europe and Amercias, Sir Alan Duncan when he spoke at the opening of the Wardrop Strategic Dialogue. 

According to him, economic co-operation is an integral part of the bilateral relations and the British side is interested to establish a bilateral framework that will encourage relations between the two countries to expand and prosper including in the area of trade “I want this to be done swiftly and successfully and I’d like this to be ambitious.I am glad that the Foreign Office officials were recently in Tbilisi to discuss details of our future economic relations. That dialogue will intensify in the coming months” - Sir Alan Duncan said.

23.10.2017, London – “I’ve been very impressed by Georgia’s commitment to democratic standards demonstrated again this weekend in the conduct of nationwide local elections in Georgia” - Sir Alan Duncan, UK Minister of State for Europe and Amercias said when speaking at the opening of the Wardrop Strategic Dialogue. 

The Minister of State said that the UK welcomes the constitutional reforms ongoing in Georgia and the Government’s Four-Point Action Plan oriented towards promoting the country’s democratic development and economic growth.

23.10.2017, London – “I never tire of saying As Prime Minister Teresa May never tires of saying that we  may be leaving the EU but we are not leaving Europe and we regard the Euro-Atlantic vocation of Georgia as being one of the key ambitions of our foreign policy” - Boris Johnson, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs said during his meeting with The Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze.

Meeting with the Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze in London today, Johnson said "we are here to deepen and intensify the friendship between Georgia and UK” in a number of directions. He said defense and security of Georgia as well as trade cooperation are of huge importance "for us and our continent”.
