On 4 June, Ambassador of Georgia to the United Kingdom, H.E. Ilia Darchiashvili, presented his Letters of Credence to the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Mr Arsenio Dominguez, officially assuming his duties as the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the IMO.

The Ambassador highlighted the ongoing reforms and major projects in the maritime transport sector aimed at strengthening Georgia's transit potential. Special emphasis was placed on the Government's support for the education, training and employment of Georgian seafarers.

Georgia highly values its long-standing and productive partnership with the IMO and remains firmly committed to the implementation of international maritime standards and the further strengthening of cooperation with the Organization.
