Ministry of Foreign Affairs Announces Grant Competition Dedicated to Mother Language Day — “My Language is Georgian”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia announces a grant competition dedicated to Mother Language Day, titled “My Language is Georgian.”
The goal of the competition is to promote the teaching of the Georgian language and the popularization of Georgian culture, as well as to support diaspora initiatives with the active involvement of Georgia’s diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad.

Eligible applicants:

  • Georgian diaspora organizations operating abroad;
  • Georgian weekend schools;
  • Non-profit organizations abroad working in the field of promoting the Georgian language and culture;
  • Georgian citizens who have lived abroad for at least the past year and have the legal right to reside in their host country for at least the next six months.

Interested organizations and individuals must submit:

  • A completed application form;
  • A valid ID card or passport of a Georgian citizen;
  • A document confirming legal residence in the host country;
  • A detailed project description;
  • A budget.

Project evaluation criteria (preference will be given to projects that demonstrate):

  • The quality of cooperation with diplomatic missions;
  • The expected impact of the project;
  • The level of student involvement;
  • Innovation and sustainability;
  • Feasibility and a well-structured budget.
